Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

SPAICHINGEN - Germany's MS Ultrasonic Technology Group, which specialises in bonding and welding technology, is targeting new business opportunities in the nonwovens sector.

The MS Ultrasonic Technology Group develops and builds a range of flexible, ultrasonic equipment including full lines, modular systems and components.

With applications predominantly in the automotive, packaging/food, textile, medical technology, consumer goods and electrical components industries, customers using the equipment can weld, punch, seal, cut and rivet thermoplastics and textiles as well as other materials.

As it looks to expand, MS says it is now placing a new focus on nonwovens, offering ready-to-integrate, drive and control technology in combination with ultrasonic welding capabilities.

Underpinning the new business expansion is the company's new MS Competence Center located in Ettlingen, Germany which, along with its headquarters in Spaichingen, provides a vertically integrated continuous welding service.

The centre is equipped with the recently developed MS sonxSYS Combine system which can process nonwovens at speeds of up to 850 m/min.

This technology will be in show at the INDEX show later this year.
