DaniMer Scientific is now actively marketing its range of hot melt adhesives made from 50% renewable resources and said to be suitable for absorbent hygiene products such as diapers, in addition to the lamination of other products based on nonwovens, as well as packaging applications.
Adhesives are currently the missing component in the longer-term drive to successfully develop 100% renewable disposable hygiene products such as diapers. Early progress has already been made in respect of the fibres and nonwovens, superbsorbent polymers and elastics that make up the bulk of such items.
DaniMer’s new bio-adhesives are produced using the company’s proprietary Seluma condensation polymer technology enabling each product to be ASTM 6400 compostable and suitable for hydro-repulping operations.
